Parallels for iPad works fine. Was a little latent compared to other products doing the same thing. I like Splashtop Whiteboard better. Splashtop is only $9.99 and the Whiteboard addition is $19.95. Parallels is $79.00 a year as it looks like it connects through one of their servers to talk to your computers from anywhere. Not sure this is necessary.
Good article about Parallels from Mashable.

Summer Conferences
Had the privilege to present at Campus Technology Conference in Boston and Educators Changing the World Conference at Monte Vista Christian School in California.
Campus Technology was great. The best keynote speaker was Kyle Bowen of from Purdue University.
ECWC had Sir Ken Robinson, Alan November, Kevin Honeycutt, Mark Barnes, and many more. I was honored to be part of this line-up.
CT Conference is higher ed folks and ECWC is focused on K-12 but very similar needs. Faculty and teachers are hungry to integrate technology in their practices. Some of the hurdles I heard about was the lack of professional development, support, funding, and over controlling tech directors. I believe it is the time educational technology professionals to call for a change in how decisions are made. Network people are a vital resource but have no clue as to what teachers need in the classroom. Make the network and access to resources easy. Too many hoops and blocked sites are discouraging the use of technology in the classroom. Time for change!
